      It’s quite simple: Look for quality (natural source, cold manufacturing process, combination product, no chemical additives, reputable manufacturer). Stay away from Omega 3 from aquaculture, as these fish are exposed to antibiotics, growth hormones, immunostimulants, pesticides, and biocides, making them heavily contaminated. The fish oil should come from smaller deep-sea fish and be labeled with the “friend of the sea” quality seal. In addition, it is important that natural vitamin E (d-alpha-tocopherol) is included, as this prevents the fish oil from becoming rancid (a result of oxidation) and remains effective.

        Flaxseed oil contains over 50% Omega-3 alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and is considered a good source of Omega-3. However, flaxseed oil does not contain the important “marine” Omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA, and the body’s ability to convert ALA to EPA and DHA is rather limited.
